Cicero, Marcus Tullius (106-43 BC) - Rome's greatest orator, philosopher,
and rhetorician, he developed a style of speaking that was emulated for
centuries thereafter. Cicero was influential in the development of Latin
as more than just a utilitarian language.
The Second Oration Against Marcus Antonius (44 BC) - Also called the "Second
Philippic." The second in a series of speeches attacking Antonius. Copies
of this speech were sent to Brutus and Cassius, but it was never spoken.
