Hippocrates (460-377 BC) - A Greek physician commonly known as the Father
of Medicine. Although little is known of his life, he is thought to have
been a man of high character and moral standards. His medical ethics
survive today as an oath administered to those entering medical practice.
The Book of Prognostics (400 BC) - A treatise dealing with the cultivation
of prognosis, the advanced judgment of the probable course of a disease.
One of the writings now referred to as the Hippocratic Collection.
