Pure Country Gold.
The Lynns (Peggy and Pasty ... named after Peggy Lee and Pasty Cline? I don't know, just my guess lol!) is a great Country duo. Being the daughters of one of Country's most distictive legends, Loretta Lynn, and being the nieces of another legend, Crystal Gayle, Peggy Lynn and Patsy Lynn pump out great ballads on this CD. I wish they would've released more studio albums.. whatever happened to them? Oh well.I remember the day I was watching CMT, I saw these two very beautiful ladies singing a song called "Nights Like These" - which I never found out who these two ladies were for about five years! They both have great voices. Their mother and aunt really have rubbed onto these girls. They have great talent!
This is a great beginning for a talented twosome.
The songs are for the most part very good. Country radio needs to wake up and start playing The Lynns. They have all the talent that their mother and aunt does. Saw them in concert and thought they were very good with the potential to be even better. You go girls.
A great act that deserves a lot of credit!
I saw the Lynns perform and I think that they are great! I believe that they definitely inherited some wonderful talent and have the potential to take their career to amazing heights. Not only are they good singers, but they performance leaves the audience wanting more!! The CD offers great original new songs that you'll be singing in the shower for weeks!!
Pleasant blend of old and new with interesting harmonies
Loretta's twin daughters debut with a spicy blend of Honky Tonk shuffles and ripping Rockabilly raveups - they call it Honkabilly, I call it fun.
"Crazy World of Love" is an uptempo groove with sparkling guitar work from Brent Mason. "Nights Like These" is a gorgeous Chris Isaak/Roy Orbison ballad with an infectious melody. Overall, a fine blend of cool tunes that sounds great in the CD player from front to back. Quite a feat these days, with Country Radio playing every lame novelty song that gets cut.
Their name will attract you; their talent will keep you.
A smashing debut by the twin daughters of one of country's greatest ladies. Get ready for a delightful mix of the kind of teary ballad (It Hurts Me) that Loretta and Tammy did so well, plus some spunky contemporary tunes (Cry Cry Baby.) What keeps it from a perfect 5? One or two rhythms are hard to pick up, making it a challenge to sing along with. However, the lyrics are catchy enough to make it worth repeating until you know the songs by heart. The harmonies reminded me of the early Loretta Lynn/Patsy Cline duets - almost eerily familliar. My favorite cut? It's hard to choose, but probably Crazy World of Love:true sentiment, catchy tune. I originally bought this album as a gamble, to see what Loretta Lynn's daughters were capable of. Now I can't wait for the next one! Enjoy.
