1st round k.o.
Canibus is one the greatest rappers of all time, I don't think anyone can see him lyriclly. This album puts some proof on that.1.intro
2.patriots-this song sets up, canibus rips apart a pretty good beat, but free stills the show in my opinion
3.get retarted-ah yes, my favorite song on the album.this song is proof of canibus's ability. the lyrics are some of the hottest ever, anf the beat is amazing. this song was the first song i ever heard from one of his albums and it blew me away.
4.niggonometry-maybe the best all around song on the album. this beat was stollin by the inc for there album on the song "o.g.". lyricaly canibus is at his best on this song,, and the beat is amazing. bis breaks down street matamatics for ya on this one.
5.second round k.o.-the most famous song he has released, he rips the hell out of ll cool j, canibus rips him apart. this isn't even his best work but he kills ll.
6.what's going on-i don't know why people sleep on this song, bis takes it to a deeper moment on this one. talkig about people always using guns for everything.
7.i honor u-maybe might rival niggonometry as the best over all song. i love the hook to this song, the chouras is lovely.
8.hye nitis-maybe the best lyrical song, going at bitters, dawm i hate them.
9.how we roll-pretty good song, it's a good song to just listen to.
10.channel zero-this is kind of a eiry song, it's really good thow
11.let's ride-ok this the song i kind of think is the down point the beat is ok ut the lack of a hook brings it down
12.buckinhham palace-another song that kind of brought it down alittle
13.rip rock-this is canibus's cross over song, it's not that bad but it isn't his best by a long shot.
any way this album is not a dissapointment, go but it nooooooooow
Krs-1, Rakim, LL, Canibus!(and others) = HipHop
Unfortunately this CD was released when there was an extreme thirst for dancehall/commercial rap(Puffy looped beats/RuffRyder Jingles). Even though I'm an underground fan, I was dissapointed at first because the oldschool/mellow beats totally DID NOT match with Canibus' wicked style(although now I love this CD from concentrating on the LYRICS). As Canibus said himself when he apologized to his fans "It wasn't my fault, Wyclef spoiled it!" I've bought mostly all of Canibus freestyles and tracks. And I've heard some tracks from the upcoming album. Let me tell you...These beats are some of the best I've ever heard. I heard a song where Canibus is ryhming A'capella(?) for a minute, then the beat comes in slowly and builds itself up around HIM. Thats real hip-hop. Not when rappers create jingles that sound exactly like the beats they are given. I try hard to be a hiphop purist, and with his upcoming CD, it will be a lot easier to remain faithful! Buy this album and the upcoming one if you want to know what this music is really about.
HOT
The reason this album didn't get felt like it should have is because people were expecting more from it because Canibus was being hyped up but, as he said, "Wyclef spoiled it".
Still, In My Opinion, this album is good.
I Honor U is one of the most deeply personal songs I've ever heard from Canibus, really good. Patriots has Free on it and she got SKILLS. Nigganometry is funny. I liked Get Retarded.. its annoying NOW but its good when you haven't heard it in a while. Hypnitis is funny. YO- TIGHTEST TRACK: How We Roll, no doubt! That track is the flyest. Let's Ride I like, some people either really like it or really hate it I like it alot got an Island groove to it. What's Going On, Canibus talks about shootings in clubs its funny cause he's being deep but his style is all metaphorical but enough dissin from me, the track still is good and got a positive message. Buckingham Palace is a classic, not my favorite but I respect it though.
The only reasons I didn't give it 5 stars is because 1. I still to this day haven't listened to Rip Rock all the way through it just isn't for me and 2. I hate the internet intro.
Still, the album still makes me wish it went on until my CD meter says 99:99

7.5 of 10 lyrics 5.75 of 10 beats
Long a staple of the New York mix-tape scene, Canibus saw his impending debut get hyped for months. Maybe, though, there was too much buzz, and maybe it became more of a distraction than a confidence builder because, unfortunately, on Can-I-Bus, the silver-tongued (and sometimes -faced) MC is plagued not by a lack of rhymes--after all, "[Canibus] without lyrics is like a porn flick without sex," as he boasts on "Buckingham Palace"--but by utterly somnolent production. Though Wyclef Jean succeeds with the pulsing "Second Round K.O." and the Eno-meets-dub "Buckingham Palace," most of the beats are lackluster, hardly befitting Canibus's verbal blaze. With a producer like DJ Premier (of Gang Starr) or even Laze E. Laze (M.O.P.), Canibus would have a track worthy of his penetrating flow. --Jon Caramanica
